AQA

Technical and Quality Document Preparation

AQA understands the environmental community's need to achieve technical correctness, adequate quality and defensibility, and cost effectiveness in planning and executing projects. Accordingly, AQA employs professionals who have the experience necessary to provide efficient, high-quality services in many common support areas. These areas include:

  • Environmental sample management procedures
  • Sampling and analysis plans
  • Data quality objectives documents
  • Quality assurance plans
  • Analytical chemistry statements of work
  • Data quality assessment protocols (including validation, defensibility, and usability)
  • Standard operating procedures (for field work, sample management, and data validation)
  • Third-party prime contractor and regulator support
  • Planning documents (associated with environmental projects)

AQA's chemists have supported the NNSA by writing its Model Statement of Work for Analytical Laboratories (Model SOW). The Los Alamos National Laboratory, Sandia National Laboratories, Pantex Plant nuclear weapons facility, and United States Geological Survey and two Native American tribal governments now use our Model SOW as the standard to govern their analytical chemistry data acquisition and reporting requirements. AQA's chemists also wrote the Model Data Validation Procedure (MDVP) for the NNSA. All of the organizations named directly above also use the MDVP either verbatim or as adaptations into their own procedure formats.

For support in areas beyond our capacity, AQA has developed close partnerships with other scientists and organizations that have expertise in environmental assessments, remediation, risk assessments, and other environmental impact issues.
